With 20% of the French CO2 emissions, the tertiary and collective real estate sectors are major contributors. Improving their carbon footprint is, therefore, a significant challenge, with a targeted effort on heating, which accounts for 78% of the emissions. This is a global issue as most developed countries display similar patterns. ACCENTA invented a low-carbon heating and cooling system that reduces up to 80% of the CO2 emissions compared to standard solutions. It relies on inter-seasonal geothermal storage and waste heat, from air-conditioners or low-carbon solar heat, produced during summer and stored into the ground. In winter, heat pump's yields are optimized by up to 50% using the stored heat, drastically cutting both energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
