Back2Buzz

Description

By refurbishing smartphones, the lifespan is expected to be increased from 21.6months to 33.6 months, reducing the total CO2 emissions, keeping the smartphone in a better state (cover and protector glass), and possibly give the device a third life &; increase job creation. The upcoming project is to activate a buy back program in order to reduce the number of hibernating devices (estimated at 88% of the total volume sold) and to increase the refurbishment rate and to increase the material recovery rate. Any initiative to increase the recycling rate has a direct impact on the use of raw and precious material. The distribution model is focussed on B2B customers and telecom operators. Buying a refurbished device has the following indirect benefits: lower CO2 emission, less raw material, less pollution, less unhealthy labour by extracting raw material.
