Without significant changes to existing infrastructure, the operation of a network of small autonomous electric vehicles is able to deliver parcels, food, general supplies, and luggage, collect waste streams, bins, parcels and other goods and return them to central locations. The vehicles are equipped with a proprietary software that makes autonomous driving possible with only visual inputs from one or more cameras. Currently used delivery vehicles in rural areas are inefficient and result in twice the CO2 emissions compared to urban environments. Through the deployment of autonomous freight transport, MWLC is aiming at reducing the cost of rural freight delivery while reducing related CO2 emissions and improving road safety.
