What are we looking for?

You are an experienced carbon engineer looking to lead and grow your own team ↓

Our climate tech start-up located at the heart of Brussels is looking for our next sparring partner. A curious individual, ready to challenge the status quo taking ownership when going the extra mile.The ideal candidate is a wise, experienced and motivated senior sustainable engineer focused on solutions and results. Your mission will be to build, lead and grow our carbon expertise department, which will be in charge of providing high-quality consultancy advice to customers that want to reduce their environmental impact overall.

You will be the bridge between expertise and operations and our product team to help identify our customer's primary concerns and practices to alleviate them.

What you'll do, in a few words ↓

The development and management of the consulting department will be your responsibility, along with taking care of the product's methodology and framework needs. You'll work directly with our Sustainability Engineers and carbon experts on the following missions:

• Represent the customers' challenges to shape the company's strategy, along with our managing team
• Know the company structure as a whole, making the best out of it
• Understand the competitive landscape and master the current state of the art technology

• Build, lead and grow our carbon expert consultancy department
• Implement and improve our consultancy process
• Lead the progress of sustainable transformation with customers
• Develop our services focusing on climate impact (SBTi, LCA, legislations, ...)
• Generate insights about the development of our low-carbon toolbox

• Collaborate with Tapio's tech and product teams to improve workflow
• Lead and manage teams of consultants in multi-stakeholder/multi-geographic contexts
• Interact with multinational corporate clients to boost trust based on expertise
• Generate insights about Tapio's methodology and product framework

• Identify customers needs and address product feedback to improve
• Collaborate with Tapio's tech and product teams to test prototypes and provide valuable feedback
• Lead strategic developments for the product

Preferred experience

Eager to share your expertise with our team?

• University degree. Ideally a Master’s level or higher, in a sustainability-related discipline
• 5+ years of proven experience as a consultant
• 5+ years of background as Carbon Expert, or Sustainability Manager
• Proven management and leadership skills - particularly implementation, and the ability to guide project teams in multi-stakeholder/multi-geographic contexts
• Great writing skills, with expertise creating and reviewing high-quality proposals
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal) - Fluency in French is a plus
• Good knowledge of international carbon standards and frameworks (Ademe, GHG scope 3, LCA, SBTi, ...)

• Affinity with green/climate-tech
• Data-oriented mindset
• Coding skills
• Affinity with tech. Open-source projects, DevOps/DataOps topics..
• Affinity with cloud computing, DB, and data management
• Dutch is a plus, bonus points for any other languages you know
