Senior Product Manager

Department: Tech

Who are we?

Tapio is a fast-growing start-up headquartered in Brussels. Our mission is to help companies transition to a low carbon economy. We've developed a carbon management software that provides companies with the toolbox they need to understand and act on their carbon emissions.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a senior product manager with five or more years’ worth of experience in B2B SaaS management. As a Product Manager at Tapio, you need to successfully position and introduce new products and services, maintain a balance between Sales and R&D, manage the product lines of existing products and innovations, and turn new products into a competitive advantage. You’ll be managing multiple opportunities at once, so you’ll need to be organised, process-driven, and diligent to ensure that leads turn into sales.
As our Product Manager, you’ll have a pivotal role in this evolution.

Your responsibilities

    • Own the entire product vision that continues to set us up for success in the future
    • Setup and maintain a super-efficient way of working to gather and structure the product needs, coming from our internal departments (Sales, CSM, Engineering, …) and, of course, directly from our customers!
    • Prioritise product needs based on their value to our customers and the estimated effort to deliver them.
    • Together with Vanille, our Product Associate, and in close cooperation with the rest of the company (CEO, COO, Engineering, CSM, Sales, etc.), you translate the product vision into a workable product roadmap, containing nicely planned milestones, epics, and stories.
    • You balance the standardisation of the Tapio product with the local needs we have for each of our regional markets (mostly European at the moment and globally shortly).
    • You follow up the execution of the roadmap and optimise the whole product development process where you see fit.
    • You will report directly to Louis, our COO, and you'll work closely with lots of other team members throughout Tapio.

Preferred experience

You are

  • SaaS experience is a must
  • At least five years of experience in a similar role (e.g. Chief Product Officer, Product Owner) for a SaaS product in a start-up, scale-up, where you have had the chance to bring the product into higher maturity.
  • You are excellent at staying in check with the market and figuring out where the market will be heading in the future.
  • You get a kick out of finding out what features delight customers. Engaging in conversations with customers excites you.
  • You rock at building an innovative product vision and managing the practical execution of that vision to make it happen in real life.
  • Of course, you are really, really good at planning and organising.
  • You have a way of finding solutions in cooperation with others by listening and finding the best solution for everyone.
  • We believe in working our butts off when necessary, but we don't believe in pressuring people to get them to do things.
  • You can communicate clearly and concisely in English, both spoken and written. Bonus points for any other languages you know.

Nice to have

    • Affinity with sustainability and green-techs
    • Affinity with cloud computing
    • Affinity with open-source projects
    • Affinity with DevOps and DataOps topics

  • An incredible work environment located in the heart of Brussels next to parc “Bois de la Cambre” → Silversquare Bailli
  • Flexible working hours – you’ll get rewarded upon your performance, not your timesheet
  • Meet some of the most exciting and promising climate solutions
  • Mandatory vacations – we work hard but care about our most prized asset, our people
  • Competitive salary - Ownership matters a lot to us. So we'll say it, we're going to reward you well
  • Monthly team lunches and after-work parties
  • Great autonomy, strong responsibilities and a career boost for any entrepreneurs
  • A young and dynamic environment surrounded by a great team in search of excellence
